The "miracle" church. Build on the rough southern coast of Iceland, legend has it that the church was built during the 12th century by a group of sailors who were lost in a storm and had prayed for guidance to get back to Iceland and swore to build a church whereever they should land. At the end of their prayer an angel made of light appeared in front of the bow of their boat and guided them into the bay at Selvogur. Strandarkirkja was for a time the wealthiest church in Iceland due to the rumoured miracles that have been attributed to it and the donations that were made in hopes that the donors prayers would be answered.

A place to rest, Bonaventure Cemetery
John Muir reportedly spent 6 nights sleeping in the cemetery after his walk from Indianapolis to the Gulf Coast of Florida. I could have spent days there, but maybe not sleeping.

Joshua Tree, JTNP
One of my favorite images from Joshua Tree NP, for me it really embodies the feel of the desert there, the Joshua Trees spread out over a mostly hard packed desert with occasional scrub and dead limbs and rocks with the mountains in the background

Tuscany in Infrared
Along SR2 in Tuscany between Asciano and San Quirco D'Orcia we encountered these pretty little walled communities. Unfortunately my GPS decided it wasn't going to record so I'm not sure exactly where this is.

Sunflower, IR
I couldn't face another rainy drive on I95 through LI and CT so I decided to take the ferry on Saturday evening. I'm glad I did for a few reasons, the best of which was finding a small stand of sunflowers in Riverhead. It was overcast and spitting rain, not exactly great for infrared, but it was what I had with, and with my shoulder being the beast it has been, my little Sony is pretty much the only thing I can lift right now. I do wish I had more time to spend with these beauties, but I've got a few shots still to go through. This was one of the ones I saw first so it got first up on the edit.

I absolutely loved taking infrared portraits of these acacia trees. Each one was so different and so photogenic in so many ways.
